The day I turned 30

Birthday Cake

A day and a half after landing in London I turned 30! Up until this point, I was still deciding, what to do, what I should do, and if I was even worthy of turning 30!?!

I’ve put so many expectations on myself over the years of what 30 would look like that the pressure was immense!

Thank god I hadn’t organised anything too heavy as the jet lag kicked in along with my period and I was not up for any kind of party.

The day started with a big hug and lots of love from my Zadie Bear. I am so thankful to have her in my life! I looked at her and realised that I had ticked off some of the things on my “by the time I’m 30” check list. A dog was one of them and that moment made me realise how grateful I am to be alive, for all the experiences I’ve had and the love that’s around me. The day I turned 30 was the day the pressure dropped!

Yes, I am worthy of being 30 and everything that will follow!

Before I knew it, I was eating Collin the caterpillar and opening my cards for breakfast with my family.  It’s only taken my family 30 years to realise that all I need on my birthday is cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I had pre ordered a cake for myself as a backup plan which turned out well. Collin the caterpillar for breakfast and Ange De Sucre ‘cookie monster’ cake for the rest of the day!

I had 4 birthday requests:

  1. Be happy
  2. Cake
  3. Crystal shopping
  4. Tacos

And all of my requests came true.

I was happy and so was everyone else.

My eldest sister made tacos for linner (lunch and dinner) which were yum. I had 2 cakes and went crystal shopping with my nephew, mum and friend Holly.

Although the day was low key the vibrations were high, and it was a special day for me!

Crystal BoxCrystal shopping was the best part of my day! We were not in a rush and everyone got to do what they wanted. It was so lovely to be able to share this experience with special people! All of us left with bags of crystals and salts. It was so nice to see my nephew so engaged and interested in the crystal world. He had plenty of questions and even purchased some crystals for himself that he looks after so well!

After linner and cake I was shattered. I had a play with my crystals, cleansed them and put them away before sinking into the sofa to watch a film. Before I knew it, my eyes were rolling, and it was time for bed.

Looks like 30 is going to be a year of early bedtimes, transformation, and keeping those vibrations high!

The day went better than I thought and was way better than sitting in the cupboard eating cake and drinking champagne!

Cheers to 30 and beyond!

To be continued…
