Mother’s Day!

My mother is someone who shows me light in the dark. Who sits in the dark with me holding my hand until I see the light and without showing her fears. Her shoulder is always ready for me to rest on, to cry on or just for comfort. Her arms are warm and waiting to hold me tight day or night. She teaches me everything she knows and is patient with me in those times where I just don’t quite get it. She has so much confidence in me and my ambitions have become hers. She has built me up every step of the way and never turns her back on me even when it would be easier for her to do so. Through the tough times and the good times, she puts me before herself. She loves me for being me!

I am extremely lucky to have more that one motherly influence in my life and am grateful for their unconditional love!

I am also extremely lucky to have my beautiful Nephew who gave me my first taste of motherhood 8 years ago! The bond between us is so strong I will treasure it for eternity!

This Mother’s Day was very special for me as it was my first Mother’s Day with Zadie Bear! My super special baby girl who has left such a big foot print in my heart!

This day is very important for me as it is a day of showing appreciation to mothers for all they do! I think it is also such a lovely day as it is true family time not ruined by superficial gifts but a day of actually taking care of someone that means a lot to you and who you mean a lot too.

Mothers Day FoodThis Mother’s Day we all chipped in making the day special as a family. We had a 3-course homemade meal together with special drinks. My nephew and I made gifts and cards. We played together and had some time to relax together. The best part was that we smiled and laughed all day!

Thank you, mum, and all the motherly influences in my life. Without you I would not be the person I am today!

I hope everyone out there had a special Mother’s Day full of memories, fun, laughter and caring for one and other!
